For our first four-day workshop of this year, the group travelled north to the stunning scenery of Donegal. Blessed with glorious weather, we based ourselves in the excellent Teac Jack hotel in the North-West Gaeltacht area of Glassagh, from where we ranged across the whole of the county, visiting numerous locations, including the islands of Inishboffin and Arranmore, The Poisoned Glen, Mount Errigal, Fanad lighthouse and Doe Castle, plus several of the towns and villages. Stand-out memories are the view of the lighthouse on Arranmore, seen from a distance up at Donnelly’s Hut; the Bad Eddie shipwreck at sunset; and afternoon tea given to us by a local artist living on Inishboffin. A selection of members’ images are shown here, which include both hand-held and drone shots.
The group was created in 2023 by a number of like minded amateur photographers seeking to develop friendships, skills and take photos in an informal and friendly environment.
